Wanaparthy is a town and a nagar panchayat in Mahbubnagar district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.The kings palace stands at the centre of the town. The KDR Krishna Devaraya Polytechnic College in Wanaparthy is the first of its kind in India was inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehuru, the first Prime Minister of India. The palace of the Maharaja now serves as the polytechnic college. The town has become a major education center with KG to PG institutions.
